inertia.

postcard poemDespite my being the instigator of another round of postcard poems (first inspired by Tim Yu from last summer’s Kundiman retreat for Asian American poets, which postcard results include these here) starting January 1, the whole month escaped me with just 4 poems written/postcards sent to my pen pal poets, Maile Arvin, Nicole Bohn, Jennifer Chien and Edmond Chow. Rainy weather and the bustle of January business after some lazy winter holidays seem to have provoked a Tryptophan-laced non-response in the area of my life known as writing. Many chapbooks deadlines missed. Oh, turkey. But, oh, tangy cranberries to have found Poet Hound’s blurb about my postcard poem! It’s a boost, for sure, to have a Poem-Found-By-Poet-Hound.

Alert, APA poets: Time to apply to the 2008 Kundiman retreat. Details here.

    Dear Debbie,
I quite loved your poem featured in Shampoo and I thank you for posting a link to my own blog as it did increase traffic there. You inspired me to send several post card poems of my own to friends and family and get some creative juices flowing. Always a pleasure, please let me know of any more work you have on the web!
    Sincerely,
    Poet Hound
