This week’s Intergenerational Writers Lab workshop was led by Genny Lim. Some product emerged (i.e. poems).
Recent Saturdays, Even in the Land of Grown-ups
Morning hugs mother, who tears away
a worried and sick bird
from its nest of rumpled sheets.
We shoo the cat away.
I begin my migration.
A tanka (The prompt was to write a political poem.):
fair trade
sip french roast dark brews.
call fair, two porcelain cups–
one for you, one me.
tidy western breakfasts, while
bean pickers drink brown water.
