I’ve in the past considered haiku seriously and also not-at-all. A writing exercise today with the IWL (Intergenerational Writers Lab) group, led last week, this and next by Mahru Elahi, was use of the tanka form (5-7-5-7-7 syllables per respective line). Here is my first:
